New Junior Policy 2011
- On the same weekend, LBAA will hold an under 14 (boys and girls together), a 14 to 18 Boys and a 14 to 18 Girls tournament.
- The minimum age for competing in the 14 to 18 tournament is 14 years of age. Players are deemed to be 14 if their 14th birthday is in the year of the championship (i.e on or before December 31st of that year)
- A minimum of 2 entries in each of the three events will be required to hold that event.
- Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded for each tournament.
- The winners of the Boys and Girls 14 to 18 tournaments will represent Alberta at the Junior Nationals, if that player is in at least their second year of membership at an affiliated club. Expenses for participation of the player, parent/chaperone and if necessary coach at the Nationals will be reimbursed by LBAA. (Same as provided in the old policy).
- In the event that there is only one entry in either the boys or girls 14 to 18 tournaments that person will be declared Alberta Champion and receive funding to the National event, if that player is in at least their second year of membership. Otherwise LBAA will not send a player of that gender to the Nationals.
